When the VPN extension is active, DNS queries are resolved by the proxy server, preventing your ISP from seeing which domains you visit.

DNS leak protection is handled by the extension's proxy configuration. The extension routes ALL requests (including DNS) through the proxy tunnel.

Brave Browser Recommendations

  • • WebRTC: Settings → Privacy → WebRTC → “Disable non-proxied UDP”
  • • Fingerprinting: Settings → Shields → Fingerprinting → “Strict”
  • • DNS: Settings → Privacy → Use secure DNS → Enable with custom DoH provider
  • • IPv6: If your ISP assigns IPv6, extension handles routing. Use “Strict” mode for full coverage.
